Obituary
Services for Lee Pate, 88, of Murfreesboro, who died Friday, Jan. 8, at Adams Place Health Center, will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. David Garth will officiate. Pate was a native of Atlanta and the son of the late Lee S. Sr. and Laura Gordy Pate. He is survived by one son, Sam Pate of Taylors, S.C. and one grandson, Michael G. Pate of Greenville, S.C.. Pate was preceded in death by a son, John M. Pate; and a brother, Don Pate. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Pate was a football and basketball coach at Murfreesboro Central High School and Oakland High School before his retirement in 1977. Memorials may be made to the Lee Pate Scholarship Fund or the MTSU Foundation in memory of Pate. Visitation will be one hour before funeral services at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
