Biography
'It was at Sillery on 16 January 1674, that the Jesuit Antoine Sulvy made Jean Chaille a child of the Church. Like his older brother, Jean went to find his life's companion at the Briere home. On 21 January 1698, he married Anne who gave him 7 children. Jean died at the Hotel-Dieu of Quebec, on 13 November 1709 when he was but 35 years old. At Cap-Sante on 30 July 1710, his widow was remarried to ancestor Francois Gignac, widower of Anne Duclos, father of 11 children. Four new Briere-Gignac children increased the human capital of this rebuilt family.'
