Obituary
DONAT J. LAPLANTE, 87, of 91 Paine St., Bellingham, Mass., a former state representative in Norfolk County, Mass., and retired tax assessor, died yesterday at The Maple's, Wrentham, Mass.

He was the husband of Jeannette (Pirani) Laplante. Born in Harrisville, a son of the late William and Marieanne (Paul) Laplante, he lived had in Bellingham since he was 14.

Mr. Laplante was the state representative in Norfolk County from 1975 to 1979. He was also the tax assessor in the Town of Bellingham for 34 years, retiring many years ago.

He was a former member and past president of the Franco American Club and the Massachusetts Tax Assessors Association, and a member of the former Club Marquette. He was the author of the Assumption Parish 50th Anniversary Book.

Besides his wife, he leaves seven sons, William and Albert Laplante, both of Bellingham, Edouard Laplante of North Attleboro, Joseph Laplante of Marlboro, Mass., Mitch Laplante of Kiawah Island, S.C., Antoine Laplante of San...Read full story
