Alice Rita Brooks
( November 27, 1929 - January 13, 2014 )

Alice Rita Brooks, 84, of Manchester, NH, died January 13, 2014, at her Hollywood, FL residence, after a period of declining health.

Born in Manchester, NH on November 27, 1929, she was the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Cote) Simard. She resided in the Queen City all her life before moving to Florida several years ago.

Until her retirement, she spent most of her career working at the City of Manchester Housing Authority.

Mrs. Brooks will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose family was the center of her life. She was an accomplished quilter, an avid reader, and also enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her many dear friends.

She was predeceased by her husband of sixty-four years, Richard Brooks. He died
July 21, 2013.

Family members include her four children, Gail Brooks, Marlene Brooks, Jean Brooks, and Richard Brooks; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Armond Simard, Larry Simard and Joseph Simard; a sister, Rita Marino; many nieces and nephews.

Services: A committal service will be held Friday, January 31, 2014, at 12 noon in Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Road, Manchester.
