Armand J. Simard of Derry, New Hampshire
August 19, 1933 - June 17, 2017
Armand J. Simard, 83 of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully June 17, 2017 after a period of declining health.

Armand was born August 19, 1933 in Manchester, NH to Joseph and Blanche (Cote) Simard and was one of 10 children. He grew up and was educated in Derry, NH, where he graduated from Pinkerton Academy class of 1953 and was a resident for over 50 years. He loved spending his summers on Beaver Lake.

Armand was a store manager for Purity Supreme, retiring from the Nashua, NH Store. He was an US Air Force veteran who earned several medals and served his country proudly from 1953 to 1957. Armand was always a proud American who took great pride in donating American flags to be hung at The Nutfield Heights Building where he lived. He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, loved watching home improvement shows, enjoyed "Fish Fridays" from Lobster Claw, and banana splits from Pete's Scoop. He had the best laugh, smile, sense of humor, and positive attitude even on the hardest of days. He was a loving husband and father but his greatest role was that of being "Grampy" to Kaycee and Sean, who adored him. A special thank you to all of the Rockingham County Visiting Nurses and Dr. Ted Brooks for his compassionate care for many years.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Sheila J. (Olesen) Simard

He is survived by his children: Jane Simard of Derry, NH and Peter and his wife Nadia Simard of Rocky Hill, CT.

Siblings: Larry Simard of Connecticut, Joseph Simard of Australia, and Rita Marino of New Jersey

Grandchildren: Kaycee and Sean Kershaw of Derry, NH

Many Nieces and Nephews and his good friend Tom Gill.

Funeral services will be held Thursday June 22nd at 10 AM at Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry, NH.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, June 21st from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rockingham VNA or to the Disabled American Veterans.
