WINSLOW, MAINE
Merle E. Swett, Jr. - age 82, of Old Eames Road, died on Feb. 2, 2015 at the Veterans Administration Center at Togus, Maine. He was born on Aug. 9, 1932 in Waterville, ME the son of Merle E. Swett, Sr. and Gladys (Princepato) Swett.
Mr. Swett served in the Navy and Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was employed as clerk and storekeeper by Maine Central Railroad, retiring after 32 years of service. He also had a radio and TV business in Waterville for several years.

Mr. Swett was predeceased by his wife, Dawn (King) Swett, and by his parents.

Surviving is one son, Wade A. Swett of Chesterville, ME; one step-son, Kevin S. King; granddaughter Heather N. King, several additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is a brother, Lowell Swett and his wife Annie, and several nieces and nephews.
There are no public visiting hours. Committal prayers and military honors will be offered at 1:00 PM Tuesday, Feb. 10th in the chapel at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME. Arrangements are in the care of Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME.
