Mrs. ARTHUR McLEAN

Mrs. Luella Margaret McLean, 81, widow of Arthur McLean, of the White Chapel Road, Bennington, died unexpectedly Friday en route to Putnam Memorial Hospital.

A native of Shaftsbury, she was born Oct 18, 1893, a daughter of George and Edith Galusha, and attended local schools. She was first married to Myron Stratton, and after his death married Mr. McLean, who died in 1959.

She had been employed at various mills in Bennington before retiring, and was a former member of the Grange.

Survivors are a son, Russell Stratton of Bennington, two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Hazel) Mattison of Bennington and Miss Mary Stratton of Brattleboro; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Russell of North Bennington; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and cousins, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 Monday morning from the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, and burial will be in the family plot in Center Shaftsbury.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9, and memorial contributions may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the funeral home office.
