Dorothy L. (Vogedes) Curtis, 84 of Rockland died on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY on Feb. 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John Louis and Mary (Blank) Vogedes. Dorothy worked as a receptionist at Cardinal Cushing School & Training. She loved crafts, knitting, animals, and playing cards. Dorothy is survived by her children Samuel Curtis IV and his wife Lynne of Somerville and Hawaii, Keith Curtis of New Bedford, Krista Curtis of Florida, Karen Curtis of Peabody, and Lynne Curtis of Rockland. She is also survived by her grandchildren Scott, Cara, Danielle, Michael, Sean, Damon, Robert, Derrik, and Steven, and her great-grandchildren Corey, Anthony, Alahne, Jacob, Makai, and Dominic. Dorothy was the sister of the late George Vogedes and Marian Contin. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53, in Hanover on Thursday from 4 - 6:30 p.m. followed by a service at 6:30 p.m. Internment at a later date.
