Dorothy V. Shepard, 85, of Grants Pass died Monday, March 18, 1996, at her home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Steve Parker of Bethany Presbyterian Church officiating.

She was born Dorothy Violet Settle Sept. 18, 1910, in Delta, Colo. On June 28, 1938, she married Frank Shepard in Klamath Falls. They moved to Grants Pass in 1950 to raise their family. While her children were in school, she actively supported their activities. She had continued her support for local schools.

Shepard was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church and the local Rose Society.

She enjoyed sewing for her family, gardening, cooking, crocheting and knitting booties for neighborhood newborn children.

In addition to her husband, Frank, survivors include a son, Robert Shepard of Eugene; a set of triplets, Cherie Hembree of Snohomish, Wash., Daniel Shepard of Grants Pass and Cheryl Shepard of Camas, Wash.; a sister, Evelyn Eatherton of Portland; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Laible.
