ELDEGE (DAVE) TRAHAN
Dave Trahan of New Liskeard passed away January 19, 1987 at home after a lengthy illness. Born Feb. 23, 1906 he was the son of Hermas Trahan and Adeline Brunet of Cache Bay, Ont. He married Lina Gervais on July 6, 1936 at Ste. Therese D’Oliva Church in Cache Bay, Ont.
Dave was well known as a cook at Raymore Radar Station, Sutcliffe Engineering and Temagami Copperfield Mine. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Trahan is survived by his wife Lina, daughters Mrs. Tony Labelle (Rachel) of New Liskeard, and Mrs. Ivan Funnell (Theresa) of North Bay, son, Mr. Richard Trahan of Slave Lake, Alberta. Mr. Trahan is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, brothers Alcide of Temiskaming P.Q. and Euclide of Thorne.
He was predeceased by his parents Hermas, and Adeline, brothers George, Urbain, Lorenzo, Roland, Arthur and Albert; sisters, Mrs. Florimond Byre (Berthe) and Mrs. Rodolphe LeBlanc (Rita), Yvonne and Ida.
Pallbearers were Ivan Funnell, Tony LaBelle, Vic Prasky, Wilf Ryan, Dick Farrell and John Funnell.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral mass was held on Wednesday, January 21/ 87 at Sacred Heart Church officiated by Father Lafond. A reading was done by Dr. A. Beland.
Music arrangements were by the “Club d’Age d”Or” with Father Dupuis at the organ and Marie Desjardins directing the choir. Burial will be at the New Liskeard Catholic Cemetery.
