Robert C SNYDER
Obituary
CARBONDALE
Robert C. Snyder, 87, of Carbondale, died at home after an illness. He was the husband of the late Jane Cox, who died in 2012. The couple had been married for 62 years.
Born in Scott Twp., son of the late Frank and Leona Taylor Snyder, Robert was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale. He attended Scott Twp. High School. He worked at D.G. Nicholas for 13 years, and was a well-known auto mechanic. He retired from Procter & Gamble, proud of being one of its first groups of techs. He and his wife Jane worked for Bulldog Maintenance at various area banks. He was most proud of his over 20 years of volunteer service for the Meals on Wheels Program, and he was humbled to be featured on WNEP-TV's "16 Salutes" for his service to the organization. To quote Dad, "He needed them as much as they needed him."
Robert was a founding member of the Coal Cracker Cruisers Car Club. His passions in life were his family, cars and car shows.
The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Davis and his staff for the exceptional care, love and support shown to both our parents throughout their illnesses. We would like to thank VNA Hospice, especially Lorraine, Karin, Nancy, Amy and Connie, and Pastor Art for the excellent care and support given to our father and our family.
