SOUTHBRIDGE - Lumina M. "Lou" (Renaud) Laliberte, 81, of 632 Dennison Drive died Saturday night in Harrington Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Her husband, Edward Laliberte, died in 1964. She leaves two daughters, Irene Zajac of Thompson and Pauline Kekelik of Southbridge; three brothers, Leo Renaud of Irvine, Calif., Omer Renaud of Quinebaug and Philip Renaud of Southbridge; two sisters, Irene Gamache of Southbridge and Elodia Lindsay of Brimfield; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Southbridge, daughter of Israel and Mederisse (Leduc) Renaud, and lived here all her life.
She was a stringer for 42 years at American Optical Corp., retiring in 1972.
Mrs. Laliberte was a member of Notre Dame Church, the American Optical Quarter Century Club and the American Association of Retired Persons.
The funeral will be held tomorrow from F.A. Sansoucy & Son Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Notre Dame Church, 456 Main St. Burial will be in St. George's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the American Heart Association, 23 Midstate Drive, Auburn, 01501, or the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, 02215.
