"Jacob Perkins was married about 1647 or 8 as his oldest child Elizabeth was born in 1649. The name of his wife was Elizabeth ___. She died Feb 12 1605 as is recorded in the family Bible. We are left in ignorance of her surname. In Part I of this book, it was hinted that her father's name might have been Whipple, but further search shows it to be a mistake and we are still left in uncertainty. Thomas Lovell who was one of the first settlers of Ipswich and one of the leading men in the little colony mentions in his will a daughter Elizabeth Perkins. When Serg Jacob Perkins gave to his two sons Jacob and Matthew deeds of gift of land at the time of their marriage, we find on each deed the name of Thomas Lovell as a witness his name often occurs in connection with this family, which certainly looks as though there might be some near relationship between the two families but this needs confirmation."
