"Roger Alling, 1st, s. of James Allen, blacksmith, b. in England, and emigrated to New England abt. 1638, and settled in New Haven, then Quinnipiac; m. abt. 1642 Mary, oldest dau. of Thomas Nash, gunsmith. He d. Sept. 27, 1674. She d. Aug. 16, 1683. They had 7 chd., as follows:

Samuel Alling, 1st. bp. Nov 4, 1645; d. Aug 28, 1709
John Alling, 1st. bp. Oct 2, 1647; d. Mar 25, 1717
Sarah Alling, bp. Oct 12, 1649; d.
El1zabeth Alling
Susanna Alling
James Alling, Rev., b. June 24, 1657; d. Mar 3, 1696 at Salisbury Mass

Roger Alling, 1st, blacksmith, at his death in 1674, left only a nuncupative will, which his children accepted. His estate inventoried at 394 lbs 17s. His widow, Mary (Nash) Alling, survived him about nine years..."
