Margaret LaBombard 1927-2007 HOLYOKE - Margaret (Ferguson) LaBombard, age 79, of Holyoke, died Friday August 31, 2007 at her home. She was born in Philadelphia PA, daughter of the late William and Sarah (Currie) Ferguson and graduated from Frankfurt High School and a Philadelphia Business School. Margaret was a retired ten year secretary at the Springfield Office of the Dept. of Environmental Protection . She was an avid baker, and was known to many as the "chocolate chip cookie lady" and had been a very active member of the Donahue School PTO in the 1970's. She, along with principal Jeanne Sarkis and her friend Judy Pelczarski, organized and ran many school carnivals and bake sales, raising large amounts of money for the school. She was the widow of Eugene G. LaBombard who died in 1968. Margaret is survived by a son William R. Crouss and wife Darby of Friday Harbor WA, a daughter Kathy J. LaBombard of Holyoke ,and two grandchildren: Tess and Britt Crouss. Services will be held at the convenience of her family. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, assisted the family with arrangements.
