Clarence R. Morneau, 55

SOUTHBRIDGE - Clarence R Morneau, 55, a heavy equipment operator, died Monday at Harrington Memorial Hospital, after he was stricken ill at work.

He leaves his wife of 22 years, Melissa (Moore) Morneau; a son, Eric Morneau, and a daughter, Rachel Morneau, both at home; four brothers, Maurice Morneau of Southbridge, Armand Morneau of Oxford, Paul Morneau of Plainfield, Conn., and Albert A Morneau of Del Rio, Texas; 10 sisters, Desneiges Chiocca, Estelle Remillard, Medora Jones and Una Morneau, all of Southbridge, Gloria Dupre and Louise Martel, both of Sturbridge, Rose Marie Kupiec of Charlton, Therese Lalummiere of Plainfield, Jeannette Renaud of Danielson, Conn., and Rita Chausse in Florida; and nieces and nephews. He was born in Southbridge, son of Paul A. and Therese (Laroche) Morneau, and lived here all his life.

Mr. Morneau was a heavy equipment operator with the Department of Public Works in Southbridge for 25 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

The funeral will be held Friday from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton St. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours are 9 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
