...In view of the removal shortly to Chicago of S. S. Salisbury, one of the founders and first officers, the universal regret of the class was expressed in the following resolution. 'The Men's Class of Central (Presbyterian) Church at it's regular social and business meeting, March 14, 1911, desiring to express its appreciation of the fellowship and services of Mr. Sherman S. Salisbury and its regret of his removal from the class and from Auburn, directs the following minute to be replaced on record: Mr. Salisbury has been identified with the class from its organization in 1902, serving as its first president and until 1905. To him belongs a very large share of the credit for its success. With marked qualities of friendliness and kindness, a rare gift of fellowship and unfailing good humor and tact, he also unselfishly devoted himself to the interest of the class, giving much valuable time and ability. We desire to put on record our appreciation of his kind and devoted labors, our deep sense of loss at his departure, and our heartfelt good wishes for abundant success in his position, desiring also that he may find opportunities in his new home for the same highly useful services that he has rendered among us in Central Church'
