Carolyn C. Brown SPRINGFIELD A memorial service for Carolyn C. Brown, 71, of Springfield, who died Sunday afternoon at the Springfield Hospital following a brief illness, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Davis Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Joe Jewell, pastor of the United Methodist Chapel, will officiate. Burial will be held at .a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery in Whitinsville, Mass. She was born in Bridgeport, Conn., Feb. 26, 1921, daughter of Charles and Alice (Windsor) Cyrus. She graduated from Hope High School in Providence, R.I. Mrs. Brown was employed at both the Springfield Convalescent Center and Brookwood Estates and did private duty nursing for many years. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Brainard of South Windsor, Conn., and Nancy Yancy of Witchita Falls, Texas; a brother, C. Windsor Cyrus of Bridgeport, Conn.; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel.
