Obituary

BROUILETTE. Marjorie (Freeman) Brouilette, 78, of Kennebunkport, Maine, and Sarasota, Fla., died Jan. 5, 1993, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 14, 1914, in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, and received her teaching certification in Canada. She married the late C. Bader Brouilette in 1940 in Hartford. She was the first woman ever to serve on the program staff of the Hartford YMCA. After moving to Burlington, Vt., in 1955, she participated with her husband in the development of Champlain College, receiving in 1978 the Cham-plain College Distinguished Citizen Award for her service to the college. She was a member of Klifa Club, and an active hospital volunteer in Burlington, Vt., and a member of the First Congregational Church, Burlington, Vt. For the past 15 years, she had divided her time between Goose Rocks Beach, Kennebunkport, Maine, and Sarasota, Fla. She is survived by her son, Alan of River Forest, III.; a daughter, Nancy Gasink of Augusta, Maine; a sister, Myrna Fancher of Huntsville, Ark.; and seven grandchildren, Alan, Eric, and Zachery Brouilette, Krista, Karl, John, and Lisa Gasink. Memorial service was Friday at Wiegland Brothers Funeral Home, Sarasota, Fla. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5927 Ben-eva Road, Sarasota, FL 34231.
