Eileen E. Gallagher

PITTSFIELD - Mrs. Eileen E. Gallagher, 78, of 63 Wahconah Heights died Thursday night at Hillcrest Hospital shortly after suffering an apparent heart attack. Born in Pittsfield on March 24, 1913, daughter of Everett and Mary Madden Fraley, she was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield. She attended local elementary schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School. Mrs. Gallagher was employed by the former Liggett's Drug Store on North Street for many years until its closing. She was a communicant of St Charles Church. Her husband, George E. Gallagher Sr., died Nov. 29, 1981. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Barbara A. Carbone of Westfield, Mrs. Mary M. Luciani of Pittsfield and Mrs. Donna M. Broderick of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Rhinehart and Mrs. Evelyn R. Simonelli, both of Pittsfield; 13 grandchildren, and 15 greatgrandchildren. Her son, George E. Gallagher Jr., died June 26, 1987. The funeral will be Monday at 8:15 from Devanny-Condron Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St Charles' Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will be in St Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
