Sherman Smith SALISBURY
1913 - Confident Salisbury is at Tupper Lake - Missing Agent There Under Name of Anderson

That Sherman S. Salisbury of Auburn, representative of the Black River Paper & Manufacturing Company of this city, who disappeared at Malone on Oct. 28, is at Tupper Lake working for the Emporium Lumber Company under the name of Anderson. There is little doubt according to information received by the authorities today. About two weeks ago inquiries in behalf of his family were made here for him. Before leaving this city for his trip northward, he left a board bill at the Woodruff House, which was not paid. Up to the time that he took employment with the local concern, it is claimed that Salisbury wrote his wife a letter every day, but since that time she has not heard from him. He bears an excellent reputation in Auburn, where he was a prominent church worker, and came here armed with the best of references when he sought employment with the Black River Paper Co. His family are anxious to secure his return and are bending every effort to that end, although neither his family nor the Auburn police will say much concerning him.
