W.F.SHOREY DIES SUDDENLY DURING SLEEP


William F. Shorey, 64, a resident of Auburn for more than 50 years, was found dead in his bed this morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Paul Kelley, 35 Mary Street. Sometime during the night Mr. Shorey suffered a heart attack. When he failed to rise at his usual hour this morning, his-relatives called to him and then it was discovered he had expired while sleeping. His death is the second in the Shorey family in less than two weeks as a week ago Sunday Mrs. Joseph Miller of Rochester, a daughter of Mr. Shorey, died.

Mr. Shorey was born in North Adams, Mass. He came to Auburn in his early youth and had lived here since. For many years he was employed by the International Harvester Company. Later he worked as a watchman at the Columbian Rope Company plant. He retired three years ago.

Surviving are two daughters. Mrs. Kelley of Auburn and Mrs.
Howard Dashney of Lyons; a son. Fireman Howard W. Shorey of Auburn; a stepsister, Miss Lela Hyzer, and a stepbrother, Wallace Hyser of Auburn.

Funeral of W. F. Shorey

Funeral services for William F. Shorey, who died suddenly yesterday, will be held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Paul Kelley, 35 Mary Street, at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in Fort Hill Cemetery. Rev. Paul S. James, pastor of Second Baptist Church, will officiate. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kelley of Auburn and Mrs. Howard Dashney of Lyons; a son,
Fireman Howard W. Shorey of Auburn; his stepmother, Mrs. Adelaide Shorey of Auburn; a stepsister, Miss Lela Hyter, and two stepbrothers, Wallace Hyzer of Anburn and Raymond Hyzer of Excelator, Minn.
