Lovelace Joseph Trahan

Lovelace Joseph Trahan completed his life journey on September 5, 2014 at the age of 93 years. He joined his beloved wife of 65 years, Irene Ruth, in heaven.
Other family members that awaited his arrival are his father, Pervis Joseph Trahan, his mother, Oralee Norris Trahan, his sister, Lucy Monget, his son, Gary Wayne Trahan, his son-in-laws, John Milton Hogan III and Timothy James Cappadonna his grandson, Reagan Joseph (Joey) Barton, his great grandson, Jonathan Miles Ray and his great granddaughter, Allison Nicole Ray.
He left behind four daughters, Ruth Ann Hogan, Judy Marie Mason and her husband Mike Mason, Shirley Ann Barton and Joan Ellen Cappadonna, eleven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was a native of Port Arthur, Texas. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School where he was a member of the 1940 "State Relay Championship Team". He served his country in World War II aboard the USS Proteus, a naval sub tender. He retired from the Gulf Refinery, after 32 years of service and moved to Toledo Bend Lake where he lived with his wife for 22 years. His last years were spent in Tyler, Texas where he lived with his "First Born Daughter".
Lovelace was a loving and caring husband and father. He cherished his family above all else.
Public viewing will commence from 6pm to 8pm on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas.
Funeral services for Mr Trahan will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10am.
Burial will be in Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, 3098 Highway 69 North in Nederland, Texas.
