Francis Warner Krebs, 63, of 115 Alanson Road, died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital after suffering an apparent stroke at home on Thursday.

Mr. Krebs was a native of Brooklyn and had lived in Syracuse since 1964. He worked for New York Telephone Co. as a lineman and an installer for 21 years, retiring in 1977.

Mr. Krebs was a communicant of the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He served as a staff sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Jean; three daughters, Jean Babbles of Skaneateles, Margaret Briggs of Orchard Park, and Ellen DiRienzo of Landstahl, Germany; four sons, Stephen of Houston, Andrew of Westvale, John of Toledo, Ohio, and Michael of Syracuse; four brothers, Peter and Noel, both of Goshen, Kevin of Shirley, and Sgt. Paul of Langley AFB, Va.; three sisters, Maureen Kragh and Patricia Falvey, both of Palm Beach, Fla., and Anne Krebs of Minneapolis; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Church of the Most Holy Rosary. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Skaneateles.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home, 3700 W. Genesee St., Fairmount.
