EDWARD LEARNED DIES AT HARTFORD HOME

"Stafford Springs, Ct., July 2 - Edward Learned Jr., 64, formerly prominent in the textile industry here, died today about noon at his home in Hartford after a short illness. He was born in Pittsfield July 5, 1881, and receive his education in Pittsfield schools. For nearly 25 years he was associated with Wilson Textile Manufacturing company of Pittsfield as secretary before coming to Stafford Springs in 1928, as an assistant agent and later as agent of the former Fabyan Woolen company."

"In 1934, he was appointed manager of the Fifth Carpet company at Cornwall on the Hudson, N. Y., and, in 1938, moved to Hartford, where he was appointed textile engineer and district representative of the Warren Soap company of Cambridge."

"He was a member of the Pittsfield lodge of Elks and belong to Masons also. He leaves his widow, Mrs Maude Fraley Learned, a daughter, Miss Edna Learned, both of Hartford; two sons, Maj. Franklyn Learned with the army in France and Howard Learned of Stafford Springs and two grandchildren."

"The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 at the Baker funeral home here. Burial will be in the Stafford Springs cemetery."
