L. P. FLETCHER DIES, WELL-KNOWN BUILDER

"Leroy Percy Fletcher, 65, of 30 Spruceland street, a building contractor in tis city for 43 years and owner of the W. A. Newton company, died yesterday at Springfield hospital after a brief illness."

"Widely known in the building contracting business, he also had served as an associate member of the Springfield board of appeals and was a former member of the Kiwanis club."

"Born in North Hyde, Vt., he was the son of Mr and Mrs William A Fletcher. He attended Childs' Business college of Springfield. He entered the contracting business in this city when a young man and had been active in the trade since."

"In 1898 Fletcher was married to Miss Edith Crouss of Agawam who died about a year ago. He was a member of Faith Congregational church."

"He is survived by one son, Leroy P. Jr., with whom he made his home, a daughter, Mrs Wesley Foss of Greenfield, and a brother, William A. of Thompsonville, Ct."

"The funeral will be held at the parlors of the Dickinson-Streeter company tomorrow afternoon at 2 with an organ prelude at 1:30. Rev Dwight L. Cart, pastor of the Faith Congregational church, will officiate and the burial will be in Springfield cemetery. "
