Betty J. Watkins June 25, 1930 - Oct. 13, 2014 NEW CARLISLE - Betty J. Watkins, 84, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away at 8:15 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014, in her home. Betty was born on June 25, 1930, in New Carlisle, to Elvis and Gertrude (Dodge) Stockton, and had been a lifelong resident. She had been the owner of the former Betty's Beauty Shop in New Carlisle. She had also worked as a waitress for the Indiana Toll Road. On June 15, 1947, she married Ivan Watkins, who survives. Betty and Ivan had been married for 67 years. Also surviving are two sons, Dan Watkins of Florida and Robert Watkins of New Carlisle, Indiana; two grandchildren, Jereme (Stacy) Watkins and Dustin (Ashley) Watkins; one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Hope Watkins; one sister, Marilyn Watkins of Florida; and one brother, Richard Stockton of New Carlisle, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.S.T., Friday, October 17, 2014, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana. Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m., E.S.T. today (Thurs.) in the funeral home. Betty enjoyed fishing.
