John Henry MOULTON
Biography

John Henry, was b. at Porter, Mar. 29, 1830, and received his education at the district school and Academy at Foxcroft. Although vocal or instrumental music was not at that time generally deemed of importance, as a part of education, yet he particularly excelled in both. After finishing his Academical education, and teaching school for several winters in Foxcroft and in the neighboring towns, he removed to New York, and was employed as a clerk in an office of the Erie Railroad at Dunkirk and Piermont.

Subsequently he made Toledo, Ohio, his residence, there having made himself familiar with the details of the lumber trade, he engaged in that business, and was largely and successfully employed in it up to the time of his last sickness. Feb. 3, 1863, he was m. to Mary E., daughter of Dr. David B. Scott, of Toledo, by the Rev. Mr. Marsham. He d. at Toledo, Aug. 26, 1870, set- 40 y. 4 m. 27 d. His wife was b. in Maumee, Ohio, Nov. 27, 1837. They had three children.
