1890 - MURDERER AND SUICIDE. Abel Bergerson Poisons His Two Children and Himself.

News
New has been received of the suicide at Spragueville, N.Y., of Abel Bergerson, who first poisoned his two young children with rat poison and then took the stuff himself.

Bergerson belonged to Eboulements, in the Province of Quebec, Canada and was accompanied to the United States by a French Canadian girl known in Eboulements as Lucie. It was her desertion that apparently induced the commission of the crime, for he left a letter, in which he said:

"I have nothing now to live for. My blonde Lucie is dead to me forever. I am satisfied to end my days, for nobody can have more trouble than I have."
