Fall River, Mass., April 14, - (AP) - The Baptist Temple, situated in the center of the city, was destroyed by fire early today with loss estimated at $1,000,000. Captain James Dallagher of the city fire department, was injured when a wooden cupola fell and was taken unconscious to a hospital.

The fire originated in the basement of the three-story brick building under the auditorium and spread rapidly. Two stores at the front of the building on the ground floor and offices above them suffered heavy damage, but the Temple, which was at the rear, was demolished. The building, owned by the Baptist Temple association, was renovated five years ago.
