1899 - BLAZE AT BEACHMONT.

Revere, Mass., March 12. - Fire was discovered in two of the unoccupied two-story frame houses in the pier district, Beachmont, early Saturday morning. Although the department responded promptly, they succeeded in saving only adjoining property. The two houses were burned. The loss is estimated at about $1,500, partially insured. Mr. McMahone of Crescent Beach, who is the owner, is unable to state what caused the blaze. The yacht Venus, owned by Mr. Brooks, was scorched by the flames, but firemen removed it to a place of safety.
