Pierre ROBERGE (ca 1638 - 1710) — Marie LEFRANÇOIS (1659 - 1722)

Pierre Roberge dit Lacroix was laid to rest this day, June 17th, 1710, at Île-d'Orléans, Québec.
Pierre was one of three pioneer brothers. They appear to have arrived in New France at different times. The eldest, Denis, was half-brother to the others, who were both baptized Pierre. The elder Pierre adopted the dit-name Lacroix, the younger Lapierre. Their exact dates of birth are not known but Denis was about twenty years older than the younger Pierre.

Lacroix wed Antoinette Bagot in 1672, but it was a childless marriage. He married for a second time in 1684, to Marie Lefrançois: they had seven children, all of whom married.

Denis's daughter Marie-Anne married François Guyon, grandson of Jean Guyon. François was a pirate "operating on the coasts of Acadia and New England;" he targeted English vessels and for a time was imprisoned in Boston. François was a brother-in-law of Antoine de Lamothe Cadillac.
Notable Roberge descendants include filmmaker Denis Villeneuve and former Québec Premier Robert Bourassa.
