Ira Cayo Dead
Ira Cayo died last Friday at the home of his parents, aged 34 years. Ira had been sick for more than a year, during which time he suffered great pain; still, hopes were entertained by his family that he would be able to throw off the dread disease and tha his life would be spared. Ira's death at an age when life seemed but a golden bow of promise is a sad blow to his young wife, parents, sisters, and brothers. He was ambitious, manly, and numbered his friends by the score for to know him was but to admire him. But the silent reaper often turns aside to level the choicest grain to be found in the field. The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the Catholic Church, Rev. Father Chrysostom of Ashland officiating. The interment took place at the Catholic cemetery and the long procession of carriages to the cemetery was a fitting mark of the high esteem in which the deceased was held. The Macabees of which he was a member escorted the remains to their last resting place.
