1768 - Pittsfield, New Hampshire settled
The town was settled in 1768 by several families originally from Hampton.
1839 - Pittsfield
Pittsfield, New Hampshire
Merrimack county. The surface of Pittsfield is pleasantly varied, with a good soil. Suncook river passes through the town, affording good mill privileges. Catamount mountain stretches across the S.W. part of the town, from the summit of which delightful views are obtained. There are a number of ponds in the town; west of which the magnetic-needle varies materially. Berry's pond is on the mountain:—it is half a mile in length, and is supplied by mountain springs. There is a neat and flourishing village in Pittsfield, a large cotton mill, a scythe factory, and an academy.

1854 - Pittsfield
Pittsfield, a post-village in Merrimack co., New Hampshire, 12 miles N. E. from Concord, has 1 bank. Pop. of township, 1828.
1857 - Fire
FIRE IN PITTSFIELD. - Early on Friday morning, the dwelling houses and outbuildings of James M. Blake and Levi Tilton, in Pittsfield village, were destroyed by fire. Most of their contents were saved. Mr. Blake was insured for $1000; his loss was much more. Mr. Tilton was not insured at all. The fire is suppose to have been the diabolical work of an incendiary.
1880 - Tornado
PITTSFIELD, N. H., June 14 - A whirlwind, last night in Barnstead and Gilmanton, destroyed about a dozen barns, unroofed many more, and also was moved several feet. A lot of timber was blown down.
1895 - Pittsfield
Pittsfield, a post-village in Pittsfield township, Merrimack co., N.H., on the Suncook River, 15 miles E.N.E. of Concord. It contains 5 churches, a national bank, a savings-bank, a newspaper office, an academy, and manufactures of cotton goods and of boots and shoes. It is the northern terminus of the Suncook Valley Railroad, 20 miles N.N.E. of Hookset. Pop. in 1890, 2605.
1901 - Globe Manufacturing started making protective clothing for firefighters in PIttsfield, NH

Pittsfield, a banking post-village and summer-resort in Pittsfield township (town), Merrimack co., N.H. on the Suncook River, 15 miles ENE. of Concord, on the Boston and Maine R. It manufactures cotton goods and boots and shoes. Pop. of the town in 1900, 2129.
