1827 - Saint-Urbain detatches from Baie-Saint-Paul to become it's own parish
Saint-Urbain-de-Charlevoix was founded in 1864 by Father Joseph-Octave Tremblay, a Catholic priest who established a mission in the area.

The community was officially incorporated in 1912. Saint-Urbain-de-Charlevoix was named after Saint Urban, the patron saint of vineyards, as the area was known for its grape cultivation in the early days of settlement.
