1906 - Oakland
Oakland, a banking post-township (town) of Kennebec co., Me., on the Maine Central and Somerset Rs., 5 miles W. of Waterville. It has manufactures of axes and scythes, woollen goods, yarns, carriages, lumber, etc. Pop. in 1900, 1913.
