Mattawamkeag, a post-village of Penobscot co., Me., in a township (town) of its own name, on the Penobscot River, at the mouth of the Mattawamkeag. It is on the Maine Central and Canadian Pacific Rs., 58 miles N. by E. of Bangor. Pop. of the town in 1900, 527.
