Fort Fairfield, a banking post-village in Fort Fairfield township (town), Aroostook co., Me., is on the Aroostook River about 7 miles from its mouth and about 50 miles N. of Houlton. It is on the Bangor and Aroostook and the Canadian Pacific Rs. I has milling and other industries. Pop. in 1900, 1469; of the town, 4181.
