Ripley, Maine
Somerset county. A good farming town, 60 miles N. by E. from Augusta and 30 N.E. from Norridgewock. Incorporated, 1816. Population, 1837, 555. Wheat crop, same year, 3,512 bushels. A branch of Sebasticook river passes through the town.
The New England Gazetteer containing descriptions of all the states, counties and towns in New England: also descriptions of the principal mountains, rivers lakes, capes, bays, harbors, islands and fashionable resorts within that territory.
