Lisbon, Maine
Lincoln county. Lisbon lies on the E. side of Androscoggin river, and 6 miles below Lewiston Falls. There are falls in the river at this place, called the "Ten mile falls." Lisbon has some manufactures of cotton and wool, a number of saw mills, and is united with Durham by a bridge. Wheat crop 1837, 3,781 bushels. Population, same year, 2,660. It lies 30 miles S.S.W. from Augusta and 22 W. by N. from Wiscasset.

Lison, a post-township (town) of Androscoggin co., Me., on the Maine Central R., 7 miles SE. of Lewiston. It has cotton-mills. The town is bounded on the S. by the Androscoggin River. Pop. in 1900, 3603.

Lisbon Falls, a banking post-village of Androscoggin co., Me., on the Androscoggin River and on the Maine Central R., 13 miles SE. of Lewiston. It has manufactures of cottons, flannels, and woollens, fibre, etc. Pop. about 1800.
