Lincoln county. This is an Atlantic town, containing several islands, at the head of Muscongus bay. It was formerly called the Meduncook Settlement, as lying between a river of that name and the Muscongus. Friendship is a place of considerable navigation and trade. It lies 48 miles S.E. from Augusta and 10 miles S.W. from Warren. Population, 1837, 662.

Friendship, a post-township (town) of Knox co., Me., on the Atlantic Ocean, 16 miles SW. of Rockland. The hamlet Friendship is on the sea-coast, 9 miles S. of Waldoboro. Pop. of the town in 1900, 814.
