About Aurora
Aurora is a town in Hancock County, Maine. The first settlement of Aurora, Maine, was founded by Captain Joseph Young in the late 18th century, around 1790. The primary business in town at that time was agriculture, with farming being a major occupation for the settlers. The town was later incorporated in 1831. The town was named for the goddess of dawn.
