Warren was granted in 1763 by Governor Benning Wentworth, and incorporated in 1770 by Governor John Wentworth. The town takes its name from Admiral Sir Peter Warren. It was first settled in 1767 by Joseph Patch.

The Moosilauke Hotel, also known as the Moosilauke Inn, was a prominent establishment located in Breezy Point, a scenic area within the town of Warren, New Hampshire. Situated on the slopes of Mount Moosilauke, the hotel was part of a series of accommodations that catered to visitors seeking the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the White Mountains.
The history of hospitality at Breezy Point began with Nathaniel Merrill, who built a farmhouse in 1834. In 1860, he converted this farmhouse into an inn called the Merrill Mountain Home to accommodate the increasing number of tourists. As the area's popularity grew, the larger Breezy Point House was constructed in 1877. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by fire in 1884. In its place, the Moosilauke Inn was built in 1886, offering guests a comfortable retreat with access to the Carriage Road, which led to the summit of Mount Moosilauke.
The Moosilauke Inn became a popular destination for tourists and outdoor enthusiasts, providing lodging and amenities in a picturesque setting. However, like its predecessor, the inn also succumbed to fire and was destroyed in 1953. A smaller motel was subsequently built on the site but closed in 1981. Today, the area where the inn once stood is an open field, serving as a reminder of the rich history of hospitality that once thrived at Breezy Point.
Breezy Point remains a point of interest for hikers and history enthusiasts exploring the trails of Mount Moosilauke and the remnants of the area's storied past. The Carriage Road, originally constructed in 1870 to transport guests to the mountain's summit, is still in use today as a popular hiking trail, allowing visitors to trace the steps of 19th-century tourists who sought the breathtaking views from Mount Moosilauke.

Grafton county. This town is 10 miles S.E. from Haverhill corner and 63 N. by W. from Concord. It is watered by the N. branch of Baker's river, which has its source on the E. side of Moosehillock mountain. It passes in a N. direction to Wentworth, and, near the S. line of Warren, furnishes several valuable mill seats. The S.E. part presents a mountainous aspect, having a large portion of Carr's mountain on its southeastern border. Warren was granted by charter, in 1763. Population, in 1830, 702.
