Danbury, New Hampshire, USA - Danbury, New Hampshire, USA - Congregational Church, 1903

Danbury was first settled about 1771 as a part of Alexandria, however it was separated from the rest of the town by the mountains. In 1795, it was incorporated as its own town. Lands from the towns of Wilmot and Hill were later added. It was named Danbury after Danbury, Connecticut.

1839 - Danbury
Danbury, New Hampshire
Is in the S. part of Grafton county, and lies in the form of a diamond. It is 16 miles S. by W. from Plymouth and 30 N.W. from Concord. This town is generally hilly, although there are some intervales. In the N.E. part is a large hill. The eastern section is watered by Smith's river. The first settlement was made in Nov. 1771, and incorporated June 18, 1795. Population, 1830, 786.

Danbury, a post - village of Merrimac co., N.H., in Danbury township, on the Northern Railroad, 39 miles N.W. of Concord. The township is hilly or mountainous. It has 3 churches. Pop. of the township, 796.
