Orleans county. This town contains Willoughby's lake, a handsome sheet of water, surrounded by mounts Hor, Pico, and other elevations. This lake is about 6 miles in length, and one and an half in width. Branches of Barton, Clyde and Passumpsic rivers rise in this and other ponds in the town.

Westmore appears to be too high for the habitation of many people or sheep: in 1830 it contained 32 inhabitants, and in 1837, 10 sheep.

Lake Willoughby: This pristine glacial lake is the jewel of Westmore. It's often called the "Lucerne of America" due to its stunning scenery. You can swim, kayak, paddleboard, or simply relax on the sandy beach. The lake is surrounded by towering cliffs and is a great spot for photography.

Mount Pisgah: If you're up for a hike, Mount Pisgah offers a challenging but rewarding trail. The summit provides breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Willoughby and the surrounding area. Be sure to bring sturdy hiking boots and plenty of water.

Bald Hill: Another excellent hiking option is Bald Hill, which is more accessible than Mount Pisgah. The trail is relatively easy, making it suitable for families. At the top, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of Lake Willoughby and the surrounding mountains.
