About East Brookfield

East Brookfield was first settled in 1664 as part of the Quaboag Plantation lands. It became part of the new town of Brookfield in 1673, and was officially incorporated as a separate town in on March 24, 1920, making it the newest town (by date of incorporation) in Massachusetts.

The village of Union Chapel is located in the town.

1895 - East Brookfield
East Brook'field, a post-village of Worcester co., Mass., in Brookfield township, on the Chicopee River, and on the Boston & Albany Railroad, 65 miles W.S.W. of Boston, at the junction of the North Brookfield Railroad. It has a church, a foundry, a tool-factory, and manufactures of cotton goods, machinery, flour, &c.
