Fröderyd parish in Småland, was included in the Western District of Njudung, included since 1971 in Vetlanda Municipality in Jönköping County and correspond from 2016 Fröderyd district .
Parish area is 81.08 square kilometers , of which land 76.76. In 2000 there were 375 inhabitants. Kirkonkylä Fröderyd the parish church Fröderyd church is located in the parish.

At the municipal reform in 1862 became the parish responsible for the ecclesiastical questions to Fröderyd Assembly and the bourgeois questions to Fröderyd rural municipality.
Fröderyd Parish is around Linnöån. The parish is upland sites with up to 320 meters above sea level and is a hilly forest and farmland.
The name (1309 Freyaryd), taken from the main village, the content likely prefix seed , 'fertile, lush' and after the trail Ryd , clearing.
The church building:
Oldest known church on the site was built of stone in the Romanesque style in the 1200s . From the 1300s the final spoken several pastors in Fröderyd the letter preserved in the Swedish Diplomatarium . 1854 demolished medieval church and was replaced by a new one that came to be somewhat south of the old. The new church was built in 1853-1854 under the leadership of builder Sven Sjöholm and designed by architect Johan Adolf Hawerman . 1856 inauguration took place. The church was built in Tegner Style and had a enskeppigt churches. August 4, 1943 the church was hit by lightning and burned down. Large parts of the interior was destroyed by fire. The current church, which is a three-aisled basilica , built in 1946 and designed by architect Arland Noreen and inaugurated in 1947. The church room's three aisles have flat ceilings of wood. The nave is supported by twelve pillars.
