1690 - Mont-Louis (St-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis) is established.
From 1697, fishing stations were built on the coast, so Mont-Louis became one of the most important fishing stations on the coast.
In 1758, during the conquest of New France, General Wolfe's troops ransacked and destroyed everything.
The municipality was reborn little by little.
It was incorporated in civil law in 1884, but it always remained a locality dedicated to fishing until the 1950s, when the exploitation of the Murdochville mine became one of the main engines of the local economy.
1895 - Mont Louis
Montlouis, a post-village in Gaspé co, Quebec, on the S. shore of the St Lawrence, 41 miles W. by N. of Fox River. Pop. 200.
