1827 - The parish of Saint-Barthélemy was erected by canonical decree of the bishop of Quebec in 1827.
It covers the territory of the stronghold of Petit-Bruno or the western part of the lordship of Maskinongé conceded in 1672 and the entire seigneury Dusablé granted in 1739 to Sieur Louis-Adrien Dandonneau, son of the lord of Île Dupas and Chicot. In the aftermath of the conquest, the seigniory of Dusablé was bought by James Cuthbert, one of General Wolfe's aides-de-camp on the Plains of Abraham, and renamed "the tip of York or New York."
