The parish of Saint-David was incorporated in 1855 over an area of more than 91 square kilometers in the administrative region of Montérégie. Today, Saint-David is an integral part of the regional county municipality of Pierre-de-Saurel.

The name of Saint-David comes from the name of Jacques David, a wood traveler and trapper who lived there since 1690.

  • The first seigniory was established in these places in 1751, when the authorities of New France granted these lands to Joseph Deguire dit Desrosiers.
    He named the seigniory Deguire. Later, it was bought by the famous Pierre Du Calvet and after his conviction for revolutionary activities, the authorities seized it and awarded it to Jonathan Eckhart who sold it to Nicolas Montour. Successive sales and purchases took place until 1855, the year of the constitution of the municipality of Saint-David.
